  1. These tropical creatures, despite their small overall characteristics, develop a decent speed when flying. They flap their wings often and can travel long distances.   2. It should be noted the exact characteristics. Butterfly on the front wing grows up to 1.7 cm. It is painted dark brown, beige or yellowish specks adorn the entire surface. From the lower section of the housing can look through greenish outlines. The male is characterized by the presence of black markings in the upper part of the calf.

  7. Often it consists of 20 units, pigmented by a yellowish tone. After a day, the color is modified, the eggs gain an orange tone. After some time, whiten, then the larvae appear in the light. As a rule, it takes no more than 2 weeks for the caterpillar to develop, subject to good weather. After the birth of the caterpillars, they immediately begin to weave a cocoon for the winter season.

  1. The places of flight of the considered individuals are parks, forest edges, slopes and meadows. The area of ​​insect distribution is observed mainly in Europe. Moreover, these butterflies can not be found in Northern Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia.

  3. The duration of the flight of the discussed butterflies lasts from the end of spring to the end of summer. This way of life leads only one generation. In the caterpillar stage they winter. As for the preference of forage plants, they feed mainly on wild-growing cereals.

  3. In the field, some species of thickheads are almost indistinguishable from each other. It is worth noting that one of the most beautiful and large species of such insects is the thickhead comma. In such an individual, the wings on top have an ocher-yellow color, and the edges are painted in a dark color. Yellow spots are also observed.

The represented butterflies are unique individuals among similar insects. Thickheads also have several subspecies. Such butterflies differ in size and beautiful color.
