How and what to wipe the old blood stains

Even the most seedy housewife knows that the blood must be washed while it is fresh. And only in icy water. But sometimes circumstances are stronger than us. And we find the brown mark too late. How to wash old stains of blood? Some believe that this is impossible. And no. If desired, anything is possible. You just have to try and know a few secrets. Go.

How to wash old blood stains

Rule 1. Dissolve protein

A dried blood stain is a long-coagulated protein. He is firmly absorbed into the fibers of the fabric and categorically does not want to leave his place. Normal washing and good old soap will not bring proper satisfaction. A brown spot is likely to wipe off, but a yellow one will most likely remain. That is from him and need to get rid of.

Let's start with the fact that, despite the venerable age of the stain, you should not water it with boiling water or too hot water. So the blood protein will collapse forever and the thing will be completely and irrevocably corrupted. The other extreme - ice water, too, will not help. It only works on fresh blood.

Hence the conclusion: we carry out all the manipulations in warm water at a comfortable temperature. Our main task is to break down protein. Than? There are several tools that do equally well.

The most accessible of them are:

  1. Boric acid. 1 tsp the powder is diluted in 200 ml of pure boiled water, add 1 tsp. ammonia. Then the “hero of the occasion” is plentifully moistened and rubbed gently but gently until the desired result is obtained. This is followed by a regular wash.
  2. Papain. It is a white powder that softens meat. Sold in specialized stores of spices and seasonings. In small towns, it can be found on the food stalls in bags of a well-known company. So it is written “M ... and. For soft meat. Dilute the mixture to a liquid slurry with warm water. After abundantly soak the blood stain. Leave until the disappearance of traces of the crime. Then wash out.
  3. Hydrogen peroxide. Pour the liquid directly on the old blood. You should hear a quiet hiss, dirty foam will appear. Carefully remove it with a careful movement (preferably with the edge of a sheet of paper). Pour peroxide and remove the foam until then, until the blood disappears. Then washed as usual.

Do not forget the golden rule of every self-respecting hostess! Before using an unknown stain remover, always test it on an inconspicuous area. Otherwise, the thing may be hopelessly destroyed.

Council Some sources recommend washing blood stains with aspirin diluted in water. Based on the fact that the drug perfectly dilutes the blood when ingested. So why not try on the fabrics outside? The method actually works, but only on a freshly planted spot. Old blood aspirin can not be.

Rule 2. Wash fiber protein

Often enough of the recipes from the list above to wipe off old stains of blood. But some types of fabrics are not recommended to use such methods. They hopelessly deteriorate and even dissolve. Therefore, folk wisdom has come up with several ways. The options are more benign, but, nevertheless, also very effective.

The most famous:

  1. Dishwashing liquid. It is diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 1, and gently rubbed into the stain. Safely overlooked for 30-40 minutes. Before washing it is recommended to rub a little more fabric.
  2. Baking soda. On 1 liter of boiled cooled water take 2 tbsp. l with powder top. Stir thoroughly. Then in the resulting liquid soaked soiled thing. At least 10 hours. Periodically lightly rub the cloth with a soft brush or with your hands. After the "test" rinsed and washed with the addition of good powder.
  3. Ammonia. About half a liter of ammonia is taken for half a liter of pure water. Thoroughly stir, then soak the spoiled item until the blood mark disappears. If the composition of the fabric allows, you can slightly increase the concentration of ammonia. This will significantly speed up the cleaning process. Then you only need to wash the saved thing in the usual way. But you should be extremely careful! The method is good only for white things from dense fabrics. Delicate colored materials can be instantly corrupted.
  4. Glycerol. It is sold everywhere, it is inexpensive, it can be found even in the seediest pharmacy. The liquid should be slightly heated in a water bath. Then, in glycerin, a cotton pad, a handkerchief, or a piece of bandage is moistened and the old blood stain is gently rubbed. The process continues until the mark disappears without a trace. After that, what? Right, wash.
  5. Starch. Best of all corn, but will fit and from potatoes. Dried blood is moistened with warm water, richly sprinkled with a good layer of powder. Allow to dry, brush off with a stiff bristle. Thing rinsed in acidified water. If necessary, the procedure is repeated until the complete disappearance of the spot. The method is ideal for delicate fabrics - silk, chintz, organza, nylon, chiffon.
  6. Shaving gel. Not foam! The tool is gently gently rubbed into the stain and left for half an hour. After that, wash with any usual powder. The method is well proven when used on genuine leather and suede. It is not recommended to wash them. But to wipe with a soft damp cloth from the remnants of the cream is even possible.

Do not rub delicate fabrics with your hands, as if washing. So you can deform the fibers, there will be creases, holes and puffs. Better use a soft sponge. After all, it is not the friction force that is important here, but the active substance.

Rule 3. Finish the spot

Sometimes the hostess, safely washing off the brown trail, stop saving things. But on light fabrics the yellowish hue of the remaining stain can be very noticeable. At the same time, under the influence of direct sunlight, such yellowness darkens with time, manifesting itself even more.

Therefore, we use methods of getting rid of the residual spot of dried blood:

  1. Weak saline solution. For its preparation take a tablespoon of salt without top for 1 liter of warm water. Soak thing for 12-14 hours. Sometimes lightly rub cloth. After thoroughly rinsed and washed.
  2. Soap "Antipyatin." Beat dense foam, put on an old stain. Leave on time, described in instructions. Then rinse the thing in clean water.
  3. Bleach "Vanish". Pour the mixture directly into the damaged area, rub it in well. Let them lie down for a while. Then washed with the addition of washing powder and the same bleach.Read the label carefully! It should be written "for colored things"!
  4. Lemon juice and salt. Make a mixture of slurry density. A soft sponge is applied to the remnants of the blood stain. Leave on for 20-25 minutes. Then thoroughly rinsed. The treated thing does not need additional washing.

By the way, some sources recommend using the steam function in the iron for cleaning. Do not try to do this! In this way, you finally and irreversibly brew blood protein in the fibers of the fabric. After such a "cleansing" thing, you still have to send a link to the cottage. It will be useless to remove the stain.

Rule 4. Be smart

Sometimes, despite all the efforts and tricks, the efforts are in vain. Old blood absolutely does not want to leave their homeland. But is it an obstacle for the real mistress? No, this is a reason to create an exclusive thing with their own hands.

There are a lot of options, you just need to be smart and turn on the fantasy:

  1. Men's clothing. Fabric dyes, brutal thermo stickers, leather patches.
  2. Women's clothing. Thermal printing, embroidery, sequins, embroidered jewelry.
  3. Baby clothes.Fun applications, original pockets, felt-tip pens on the fabric.

And this is only a small part of what can disguise an old blood stain. After all, are you women or who?

Council Do not use whiteness or other products containing chlorine for removing old blood stains. The fact is that the brown color will go away, but the yellow shade will remain on the fabric forever. Repeating or boiling will not save such a thing.

How to wash old stains of blood? You have to be patient and work hard. Then you do not have to sculpt the patch or drag the thing into the link to the cottage. As they say, patience and work are our everything!
