Characteristic

He has all the features related to this genus. The cap has a convex shape with curved edges. In the process of maturation, it opens and is pressed. The edges get wavy. The diameter of the cap of an adult mushroom reaches a maximum of 8 cm, therefore the mushroom is considered rather large.

The surface of the fungus is slightly smooth, there is mucus on the cap, which performs a protective function against drying. Garbage and dust that prevails in that area stick to it. Inside the caps of the cream-colored plate, which fall a little on the leg.

The leg is round, in some cases a slight flattening is possible. In addition, depending on the growing conditions, there are even or curved. If in the area where it grows, a large amount of moss prevails, through which the bleak youth has to make its way, the leg becomes bent.

Inside it is empty, gradually tapering down. It reaches a height of 8 cm, while the diameter will be within 0.5 cm. Not only the cap, but the leg also has a small amount of mucus. The color is the same shade as the cap, only slightly dimmer.

It differs from related mushrooms in color. The cap may be grayish-purple or brown-purple. It depends on the level of maturity and the territory in which it grows. If the weather is hot and arid or the mushroom grows in a sunny location, it turns pale, becoming almost white. There are cases when a weak, barely visible pattern appears on it.

If the fungus is damaged, it emits a caustic white juice that interacts with oxygen and becomes gray.

Places of growth and harvest

The harvest season begins at the end of summer and lasts for one month. Milky grows pale in small groups. It can be found in larch and spruce forests, prefers the combination of mycorrhiza and birch.

They prefer to grow in loess with high humidity, so they are more likely to meet them near swamps and other bodies of water. They also grow in forests where there is a fairly large amount of moss. Moss is able to retain the moisture that mushrooms love.

The taste of flesh

This type of mushroom is endowed with an excellent taste, different from other mushrooms, but you can enjoy it only with proper heat treatment.

The mushroom is odorless, and its flesh is thin and fragile. To taste it is endowed with bitterness, from which you can get rid of after proper processing. The easiest and most successful way - cooking mushrooms. Only then can you start marinating them for the winter.
