Willow plumes - description of where the mushroom toxicity grows

Willow plutus is a fungus of the Bolbit family, having hallucinogenic properties. Rendered psilocybin syndrome is mainly characterized by a significant increase in the activity of the SNA. The presence of a substance such as psilocybin is primarily indicated by the bluish color of the stem of the fungus at its base. The Latin term for this species sounds like Pluteus salicinus.

Description of the species

Willow leaves have a cap, the maximum diameter of which reaches 80 mm. At the beginning of the development of the fungus, the cap has a characteristic bell-shaped form, with the growth it straightens, becoming more flat-convex. In adult specimens, the cap completely opens, the inner part with a small depression, in the center of which is a low tubercle, densely dotted with small scales. The main color of this part of the fungus is gray. The surface is shiny, completely covered with characteristic radial stripes.

The lamellar body of this species has densely located plates of brownish color. The flesh of the fruit body is very thin and fragile, off-white in color, it breaks green when broken, has a slightly pronounced rare taste and aroma.

The leg of the spike is cylindrical, rather long, reaching 100 mm, in diameter - no more than 10 mm. The internal part is friable, thickens at the base. The surface of the stem is white and shiny; the base of the stem has a characteristic blue tint.

Places of growth

Most often, the plumes of willow can be found growing in wet forests of mixed and deciduous type. The most favorite place of growth of this species of mushrooms - floodplain areas. Plutes grow both singly and in small groups. They often settle on rotting wood, fallen trees, near the horses of trees. This species is especially prevalent in the forests of the northern hemisphere. Fruiting season - from mid-spring until the first frost.

Edibility and properties

In fact, such a mushroom as willow plumes is considered edible, that is, it can be eaten, the only important condition for this is mandatory pre-boiling.This is explained by the fact that during long-term heat treatment such active substance as psilocybin is destroyed, and the use of fungi of this type will not harm the person.

Edibility and properties of wicker plum

The use of raw sputum, as a rule, causes a rather strong psilocybin syndrome, which is manifested by the appearance of hallucinations. A person can begin to hear sounds, see very bright and realistic visions, panic attacks are possible. Such an effect occurs rather quickly - already after several tens of minutes after taking these mushrooms as food raw, the duration of such a state is several hours.

Related species

Plyus deer is a type of mushroom known to most lovers of quiet hunting, also called deer mushroom. The hats of this representative of the family of plutes are rather large; in some specimens, the diameter of the fruit body can reach solid sizes - up to 200 mm. The color of the cap surface is brownish with different shades (variations - from light to dark). This type of mushroom has spread throughout the planet, most often the place of their growth is wood of trees of various species (like deciduous, and conifers). This mushroom is an edible species that can be used to prepare culinary dishes.

The plumes are noble, as the species described above has a large fruit body (diameter, about 150 mm). The color of the cap is from pure white to ocher. Place of growth of the species - almost the entire territory of the Eurasian continent, deciduous wood (beech, oak). This species is inedible and is not used for culinary purposes.

White plumes are fungus that is small in size (cap diameter is not more than 50 mm). The cap, as is clear from the name of the species, is white; it acquires a grayish color in mature mushrooms. The surface of the cap is densely dotted with brownish fibers. Most often, this species can be found growing on the wood of trees in beech groves. This species, although edible, is nevertheless little known. The main place of growth is North Africa, the Western part of the European region and Siberia.

Umber pluty is a medium sized mushroom, the cap diameter does not exceed 100 mm, the color of this part of the fungus is umber or dark brown. The surface of the cap is fleecy, completely dotted with small radial grooves. The place of distribution of this species is the Eurasian continent and North Africa. Presented to the species included in the group of conditionally edible mushrooms. Pulp with a slight bitterness, which disappears after heat treatment (meaning boiling of mushrooms).
