How to clean a suede bag

Effective ways to clean suede bags

Do not rush to clean the bag in a hurry, so you only exacerbate the situation. For such purposes, purchase a second product that you can wear at the moment while your beloved handbag is undergoing dry cleaning.

Eraser

Many suede lovers know that this kind of material is easy to clean with a regular school eraser. The method is especially effective in cases where an ugly gloss has appeared on the surface of the product. Take a stationery gum, run your hand into the cavity of the bag, stretch the fabric and begin to rub the right place intensively. It is mandatory to ensure that there are no traces of a pencil or a ballpoint pen on the eraser, otherwise you will spoil the bag.

Brush
In specialized stores, leather goods and shoes sold bilateral brushes for suede. The price of this tool varies in the range of 120-170 rubles, it all depends on the design. One part of the brush is equipped with silicone tips, which clean up the pile and remove even permanent dirt. The second side consists of small iron scales that remove fat stains and gloss. In addition, there are rubber strips on both sides of the brush, which help to process the seams and other hard-to-reach places (clamps, buttons, ring holes, etc.). Feel free to purchase such a tool, it will serve faithfully for a long time.

Pumice
To clean the bag of dust and dried dirt will help ordinary pumice stone toe. The main thing is that it is clean without small abrasive particles, which are easily ejected into the surface. To clean, pre-wash the tool, dry it, then stretch the fabric of the bag. Use light circular motions to walk around the polluted site, simultaneously blowing off dust or brushing it with a brush. No need to press hard, such a move only provokes alopecia of the pile and allows dirt to penetrate deeper into the fabric fibers.

Salt
 Suede cleaning salt
An excellent folk remedy is the use of crushed (not sea, not iodized!) Salt. Spread out the bag on a flat surface, sprinkle with plenty of salt, leave for 10 minutes. After the expiration date, rub the bulk into the pile. Shake off excess, if necessary, repeat the procedure. The method is especially effective in the case of removing complex stains, such as fatty deposits, fuel oil, etc. Salt absorbs dirt and pulls it out of the fibers. Above all, make sure that the surface of the bag is dry before processing.

Liquid soap
Get baby liquid soap at a hardware store, dilute 25 ml.product in 1.2 liters of filtered (!) water, add 1-2 ml. ammonia. Dampen a clean cotton cloth in the prepared solution, wipe the contaminated surface of the product with a cloth, rinse, evaluate the result. If it is incomplete, repeat the procedure. After all the manipulations, make sure that the detergent is removed from the fabric structure, otherwise there will be stains on the bag. Blot the product with a dry cloth, leave to dry in the fresh air away from direct UV rays.

Petrol
Another common method of cleaning suede bags from all types of pollution is considered to be clean gasoline. You can use the composition with gas stations (AI-95, AI-98) or use products for filling lighters, it all depends on personal preferences and the materials at hand. In most cases, the method is used to remove fat stains. To properly clean the bag with gasoline, moisten a cosmetic swab or lint-free cloth in the composition, then gently rub the stain. Leave for 10 minutes, then sprinkle the treated area with chopped food salt, beat it into a cloth, shake it off. Sprinkle with salt again, leave for 5 minutes.During this time, the bulk product will absorb dirt and the remnants of gasoline, you just have to “brush” the bag with a special brush.

Table Vinegar
For cleaning suede bags from difficult stains you can use a weak acetic solution. The main thing is to choose the table composition (concentration 9%), and not the essence. The indicator of the active substance in the latter case exceeds the permissible norms by almost 10 times, this does not suit us. To clean the surface of the product, dilute 30 ml. vinegar in 0.7 l. filtered water, mix. Moisten a kitchen sponge or soft cloth in the composition, squeeze it well, wipe the soiled area. It is important that the chamois be soaked with a liquid to a minimum, otherwise you risk getting stains. The tool is suitable for processing bags of all shades, because vinegar is used for production purposes to maintain color.

Dentifrice
 Tooth powder for cleaning suede
Cleaning technology is similar to the use of baby powder. Take the required amount of whitening tooth powder, distribute it on the contaminated area, beat it with your fingertips. Cover the treated part with food film, after half an hour, remove it and replace the used powder with fresh. Carry out actions until the bulk composition ceases to be painted. After all the manipulations, vacuum the surface of the fabric, walk around the product with a suede brush. As a rule, this type of cleaning is used to remove stains from light suede bags, as the tooth powder leaves traces on black and brown fabrics.

Baby powder (talc)

Get a talcum without fragrances in a pharmacy or cosmetic store. Spread the composition over the area of contamination, hammer the mixture into your hands so that it penetrates deep into the fiber structure. The exposure time depends on the degree of contamination. If you want to remove fresh traces of blood, coffee or wine, leave the powder for 4 hours. In case of removing fat traces, wait for about 5 hours. At the same time, regardless of the type of contamination, replace the used new powder every 30 minutes. You will see that talc will absorb the substance, acquiring a characteristic shade. After the powder stops changing color, shake it with your hands or vacuum the surface of the bag. Brush the product with a special silicone brush.

Milk
Skimmed milk will help to update the color of the bag and remove unnecessary gloss. Pour into a glass 100 ml. product, heat in the microwave to a temperature of 35-40 degrees. Add 25 grams to the drink. drinking soda, stir until the crystals completely dissolve. Dip the lint-free fabric into the resulting composition, squeeze it well, walk in circular motions around the pitted areas of the bag. Next, rinse the cloth with filtered water, do a wet cleaning, removing the remaining milk. Dry the bag, in case of insufficient results, perform another procedure.

Ammonia
Get liquid ammonia, pour 50 ml. composition in capacity, add 125 ml. purified water, mix. Dip a foam sponge (which is not painted) into the solution, process the contaminated areas on the surface of the bag, wait 10 minutes. After this period, wipe the stain with a damp cloth, evaluate the result. If it is incomplete, increase the concentration of ammonia to 70 ml., Dilute it with water, and repeat the treatment. After all manipulations dry the bag in the fresh air, avoid direct sunlight.

It is easy to clean the suede bag, if you have sufficient knowledge about the existing folk remedies. Use the recipe based on skimmed milk, tooth powder, baby powder, liquid ammonia. Do not forget about the office eraser, a special brush made of silicone, pumice stone for the toe.
