Adults can easily become infected if they have not been ill in childhood. The exception is a strong immune system. But for those who have already suffered from chickenpox, there is nothing to fear, since the body produces immunity to it.The most dangerous period when you can pick up a disease from an infected person is the first and second weeks of the disease.

The causative agent of chickenpox is a virus called Varicella zoster. Its peculiarity is that it spreads very quickly, moving in the air. It is enough to walk past a person who has become ill with chickenpox so that the virus can enter the body. The cunning of the virus also lies in the fact that the first symptoms occur several days after infection. During this period, it is impossible to determine whether a person is sick, due to which others are also sick.

In an adult, chickenpox can flow much harder than that of a child. Severe intoxication occurs, and the fever lasts much longer. But the main thing is not to comb the itchy wounds, so as not to infect the infection, and to prevent suppuration. In rare cases, this causes encephalitis, which can be the cause of death.
