How to strengthen the gums at home

Gums are the foundation of the teeth that supports them and provides them with nutrients. If they swell and begin to bleed, you need to consult a dentist. Symptoms indicate the development of gingivitis, which without proper treatment develops into periodontitis. To protect teeth from falling out, and the oral cavity from infections, you need to take care of the gums and strengthen them in a timely manner.

 How to strengthen the gums

Hygiene vs gingivitis

The cause of inflammation and bleeding is bacteria. They settle on the teeth and gums after each snack or use of any drinks, even water. Microbes multiply, attacking enamel and soft tissue, there is caries and other dental troubles.

Basic rules for healthy gums:

  1. Use toothpaste as prescribed at least twice a day.
  2. Make friends with the floss, which should always be at hand. Using dental floss, clean the gaps between teeth after each snack, even if there was only an apple or a sweetie for lunch.
  3. Do not neglect rinsing. Buy a toothbrush with the right stiffness.

  5. Give each tooth brushing at least 5 minutes, carefully removing plaque not only from the enamel, but also from the inside of the cheeks and tongue.

Another composition can also strengthen the gums: for 2 parts of oak bark, take 1 part of dried lime flowers. Mix, crush in a mortar or grind to make a homogeneous powder. Brew a teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of boiling water. Insist 3-4 hours to warm the broth. Strained herbal extract, rinse the mouth cavity three times a day.

Garlic for strong gums
Garlic, like onions, contains antioxidants, ascorbic acid and anti-inflammatory components. Both ingredients disinfect the oral cavity, destroying bacteria, and at the same time replenish the supply of vitamin C, which the body needs for strong immunity and healthy gums.

It is useful to daily rub the teeth and soft tissue with gruel of onion or garlic. Apply the softened product to the gums and gently massage with your fingers to improve blood circulation. After 5–10 minutes, rinse the mouth with grass decoction or rinse.

The procedure is best carried out in the evening, brush your teeth before garlic massage. And in order not to frighten those around you with an unpleasant smell, in the morning you need to chew a few sprigs of parsley or fresh dill, in which there is also a lot of ascorbic acid.

Broth for fresh breath
You will need chopped mint, you can take a few dry or green twigs with leaves, and sage. Mix herbs in equal proportions, pour into a glass jar. Daily brew 50-60 g each in 250 ml of boiling water. Cover the herbs with liquid, cover with a saucer or lid, wait 20 minutes.Cool to room temperature, drain and rinse the mouth with a fragrant decoction twice a day.

If you do not have time to make herbal teas, it is recommended to buy alcoholic propolis tincture at a pharmacy and dilute a teaspoonful of the product in a glass of warm liquid. Use twice a day after brushing. Propolis tincture can be treated gums: apply, without diluting, wait 5 minutes, rinse with plain water. Try not to swallow the remedy, but spit all the saliva that will stand out, spit in the sink.

Recipe with burdock and aloe
There are two options for therapeutic decoction of burdock. For the preparation of the first tool using fresh leaves of the plant, which are chopped into large pieces and poured boiling water. Put the pot with the future broth for 3 minutes on the stove, turning on a moderate fire. It remains to insist means and strain.

Dry burdock flowers do not need to boil. Enough to fill a teaspoon of a plant with a glass of hot water. This tool is filtered and applied three times a day.

If the house has aloe, you can try to strengthen the gums with the help of this flower:

  • Grind billet, pour aloe gruel into an enamel pan.
  • Add 50–100 ml of water so that the mass becomes liquid.

Separate the liquid from the meal, dilute with warm water and rinse.

Recipes with salt for gingivitis and stomatitis

Sea salt protects teeth from plaque and deposits of stones, disinfects gums and prevents bleeding and inflammation. You can use the usual cook variety, but the first option is more effective.

 Salt solution for rinsing

Saline solution for rinsing is prepared in several ways:

  1. Dissolve a teaspoon of the ingredient in a glass of warm liquid.
  2. Combine 200 ml of water with 40 g of linden honey, and buckwheat will do. Pour 20 g of fine-grained sea salt.
  3. In the first version of the solution, add 3-4 drops of iodine.

Fine-grained salt is also used to massage the gums. Mix it with honey to make a thick paste, and rub it in with gentle movements.You can not push hard, so as not to injure the gums. Honey-salt massage to do before bedtime, and then thoroughly wash out the remnants of the funds with water.

Alcohol recipes and juices

Freshly squeezed juice from sorrel has antiseptic properties. Take part of the ingredient and 3 parts of warm water. Sorrel juice is quite sour and can destroy tooth enamel.To avoid this, the oral cavity after the procedure should be thoroughly rinsed with plain water without additives.

Diet for strong gums

Prevention and treatment of gingivitis and stomatitis begins with nutrition. If the first symptoms of inflammation appear, you should eat a lot:

  • citruses;
  • seafood, fish or algae;
  • greens and nuts;
  • cheeses and dairy products.

Tip: If the gums are weak because of pregnancy, a woman should buy a vitamin complex. “Vitrum-prenatal”, “Sana-Sol Pregna”, “Elevit” or “AlphaVit Mama” will do. It is necessary to coordinate the intake of vitamins with the gynecologist who monitors the course of pregnancy.

Traditional methods of strengthening the gums give a positive result with regular use, when the oral cavity is not much running. In other cases, it is impossible to do without an examination by a dentist, who will help you to choose disinfecting toothpastes and rinses, special gels or even antibiotics, if conventional means did not cope with inflammation and bleeding.
