Strophariya blue-green - description of where the poisonousness of the fungus grows

Stropharia blue-green belongs to the Strofariyev family and is considered one of the most unusual representatives of this family. They are often called "birds", "angels" and "little folk". Despite these funny names, the fungus can be dangerous to health. The season of its growth is in the late summer and the whole autumn, when the temperature varies from 10 to 20 degrees. Mushrooms are saprotrophs, that is, their food consists of the organic remains of dead plants, trees and animals.

Appearance and morphological features of the fungus

The shape of the mushroom is unusual, since the color of the cap is bluish or turquoise. Its diameter is from 2 to 8 centimeters, during high humidity it becomes sticky to the touch of the slippery mass, which is also greenish. When the mucus dries out, it becomes light green in color, and the cap is covered with small specks, like a mushroom. Its shape depends on the age of the fungus: in young individuals it is in the shape of a dome, and in adults it is in the form of a plate, sometimes with fibrous edges. There are also spores in which the fungus multiplies. They are oval-shaped, with a smooth shell and brown color. Over time, the color of the cap is lost, and it becomes white and yellow.

The structure of strophanaria is pleasant to the touch, not too crumbly, but soft and elastic. When interacting with the environment, the white flesh may turn yellow. By smell, it resembles the smell of radish. With all the rules of cooking, the output is a pleasant, slightly mushroom flavor.

There are many plates, and they are tightly connected to the stem at the base, at first they are khaki or blue, and then change and become gray or dirty-purple. The leg is not the same as in most representatives of the grebes. It is dense in structure, wide enough, and its diameter ranges from half a centimeter to two. The maximum height of the legs can reach ten centimeters.Despite the apparent massiveness, inside the leg has nothing. It also contains a ring, typical of even edible mushrooms, but it often disappears.

Accommodation areas

It mainly grows in forests, where mainly spruce, pine, cedar and other conifers grow, sometimes it can be found in mixed areas. Fertile soil with plenty of humus and oxygen is necessary for stanza germination. Of course, it happened that they grew on half-rotten stumps, but there are only one in a million such cases. The area is spread throughout almost all countries of Europe and Asia, a little in North America, where these mushrooms are served even in eating places. Although they grow up to 10 centimeters for a long time, they are collected only for a few weeks, starting from the end of the first month of autumn and beginning of October. They are located in open spaces illuminated by the sun.

Similar varieties

The most similar of their family is the Stropharia sky blue. The only difference is only the lighter shade of blue in the cap. It does not grow in the forest, but in squares, parks, and even in open spaces for grazing cows and sheep. The sky-blue stropharia has a longer collection period, but its taste is not as pleasant and bright as that of a blue-green relative. Because of the taste, she did not receive much popularity.

There is also a coronary stropharia, which is also called "red," "decorated" or "koltsevikom." The color of this fungus is significantly different from the blue-green stropharia, as it has a hat of a pleasant golden hue. The World Wide Web has collected little information about it, so most consider it poisonous and not eating.

Is it possible to eat blue-green stropharia in food
Researchers attribute it to those types of mushrooms that can be consumed with proper preparation. However, its safety is proven only in Russia and the nearest CIS countries, in the United States it is considered poisonous and unacceptable to food. These judgments are based on the facts of poisoning by other types of fungi, which are very similar to stropharia, but are poisonous in contrast to it.

In fact, this mushroom can be used in food in any form. Culinary experts prefer to salt them or bake them with additional ingredients. The only important rule in the consumption and preparation of the fungus is that you need to remove the film from the mucus from the cap.

The fungus is well absorbed in the stomach, unlike the others, so it can be given as a bait even for small children, but after careful cooking.
