Trametes multi-colored - a perennial mushroom, the maximum size - up to 90 mm in width and 50 mm in length. The shape of the representatives of this species may be completely different, most often it is rounded. In fact, it is a parasite fungus that grows to the trunk of trees.

The surface of the trametes fruit body is rather tender, characterized by a set of convolutions having different color shades - from yellowish to dirty brown.As a rule, the edges are slightly lighter than the central part of the cap. The color of the base of the fruit body is dark olive, the flesh has a pleasant aroma.

Most often tinder is found in forest areas, distributed throughout the world. However, on the territory of the Russian Federation is virtually unknown.
