 Java cat

The history of the breed

The native land of javanez is considered to be North America. In the late 70s, this breed appeared thanks to the efforts of the Canadian M. Davis and E. Sender, who developed a new type of Balinese. The breeders' task was to produce other color-point colors of the Balinese breed, in addition to the classic, adopted to be called Siamese. The breed was recognized in 79 year of the last century.

The name Javanes borrowed from the island of Java, which is adjacent to Bali, despite the fact that these cats have never visited it.

Javana nature

Javanese cats are very attached to their owners and rarely separated from them, preferring to be at arm's length. They love to bask with the owner on the couch and love to be picked up. Javanese people are not as obstinate as Siamese cats, but inherited stubbornness from them. They like to be important and keep everything under control.

 Javana nature

Yavantsi have extraordinary feline intelligence, inherent agility and some "sportiness".In childhood, being kittens, they play a lot and love to climb everywhere using claws. It is better to walk adult cats with a leash and train them to perform simple tricks.

Yavanezam should have special cat toys to do something, otherwise the necessary things in the house can suffer. Such a cat will suit an active owner - an extrovert, but by no means calm and pedantic people.

These cats love to communicate and make friends, they need company for an interesting and collective pastime. Alone, they do not suffer much, but communication brings them much more pleasure.

How to take care of javanez and properly contain it?

Fortunately, Siamese descendants do not complain about their health. It is from them that they inherited its high potential. The problems that may arise include amyloidosis, asthma, congenital heart defects, gastrointestinal disorders, and neurological problems. Most often, these diseases occur due to poor heredity. Cats with such problems should be excluded from breeding.Often, it is javanezi who have the misfortune to suffer from congenital strabismus.

Javanese cats live, on average, about 15 years.

Active Javanese kittens require an extra dose of B vitamins in their diet. They spend them very quickly due to extreme physical activity. To compensate for the deficiency of this vitamin, you can apply brewer's yeast, adding to the food at the tip of the knife. In order for the animal's coat to be brilliant and healthy, its nutrition must be complete and balanced. You can use special foods containing amino acids and zinc. In essence, there is no individual approach to the nutrition of representatives of this particular breed.

The hair of the Javanese cat is quite unpretentious, because it is not supplemented with undercoat. Therefore, it does not require careful maintenance and special attention. It is enough to direct the pet beauty, combing about 1-2 times during the week. It is necessary to bathe a cat as little as possible and better only because of necessity. Also, a pet occasionally requires ear and eye hygiene when required.

To preserve the health of their teeth, they must be cleaned with a special paste and brush, once a week is enough.

Where to buy yavana?

It is better to buy a kitten of any breed in a good eminent cattery. As for yavanezov, in the CIS countries they are not too common and the choice of sellers is small.

On the territory of the Russian Federation you can find several nurseries in the Moscow region. In Ukraine and Belarus, there are still no yavanez nurseries, but there are private owners who have these animals.

To buy a pet from a private person, you need to acquire patience and carefully check everything before you make a purchase.
